A familiar face inside The Market is moving on. But, when one door closes, another opens.
Nola Roux Casual Cajun Eatery announced on social media that today (Friday, June 9) will be its last day operating in The Market at 301 Main Street downtown St. Joseph. The restaurant expanded into the market about a year ago.
They also announced they will be opening a new location in Watervliet later this year. In the post, a photo shows the Nola Roux catering truck sitting outside the former Panthers Grill at 8567 Red Arrow Highway in Watervliet.

“Today, we bring you some good news and bad news. Which one do you want to open first?
Well, let’s start with the not so great news. Today, June 9th, is our closing day inside @themarketstjoe. We cannot thank you all enough for all your support here. It’s been SO fun to be apart of this awesome new place in downtown St. Joe. Don’t worry, we still have our 2809 Niles Avenue location in St. Joe, so you can still come see us and get your Cajun food With that being said, you’re probably ready for the good news…
We’re working diligently to open our location in Watervliet!! And we need all hands on deck and focused effort to make it happen. This location will enable us to better serve the Southwest Michigan area because it has lots more space and capacity for our growing catering demand and mobile events. We’re not open yet, but we are aiming for the end of the year. If you swipe over a photo (or look closely at the stamp of the good news envelope), you’ll see where the new location in Watervliet is at: the old Panther’s Grill across from the high school!
Like they always say: when one door closes, another one opens! And we’re thankful for all the doors, opportunities, locations, and people/community who support us so well. We can’t thank you all enough for the support!”
Nola Roux has been a hit in southwest Michigan since opening its flagship location at 2809 Niles Avenue in St Joseph. Since its opening in 2018, it has expanded with a catering truck, food trailer and The Market satellite location.
