Wayfinding signs to direct visitors to key attractions around the city of St. Joseph could be in place by Memorial Day following action this week by St. Joseph City Commissioners.
Speaking at Monday’s meeting, City Manager Emily Hackworth said the city worked with Corbin Design Services in 2023 to design the signage.
“They developed what I think are lovely designs for the downtown as well as for other key destinations throughout the city,” Hackworth said.
There are welcome signs, municipal ID signs, vehicular signage, pedestrian signs, and kiosks all slated to be installed around the community.
Hackworth said the city sought bids to manufacture and install the signs last month, and Valley City Sign Company, of Comstock Park, has come back with the preferred offer of $298,000. Commissioners Monday approved the bid so work can get started on the new signage soon.
