Families looking for a playground for their children to use this summer have a new option at Lake Township Park in Bridgman. Township officials have announced the installation of a new playground structure near the south pavilion and updates to other playground equipment.
Having been well loved by many families over the years, the previous structure had some structural issues that required it to be replaced for the safety of the children. The new and improved structure includes two slides, a rock-climbing wall, and multiple climbers including a traverse climber.
A second set of playground equipment near the north pavilion also saw upgrades with two older slides replaced. The third playground near the Lake Pavilion features additional slides, swings, and more.
The park, established back in 1981, features over 60 acres of land and serves as the home to 3 pavilions, a pond and gazebo, the three playground structures, and is the home to the Bridgman Softball Association, Bridgman Baseball, Bridgman Cross Country, Bridgman Lake Township Youth Soccer, and the full 18-hole Sand Ridge Disc Golf Course
Located at 10801 Gast Rd. on the corner of Gast and Snow Roads in Lake Township, the park and all three of its playgrounds are open to the public daily through October 8:00 a.m. until dusk. The park is accessible in the late fall, winter, and early spring via an “off season” parking area for those wishing to use the park on nicer days.
