New Coloma Open Air Market Does it Up “Picker-Style” Every Summer Sunday

It was once home to the old Coloma Army Surplus shop. Now, it’s officially home to the Coloma Open Air Market, happening every Sunday from now through the Labor Day Weekend in Michigan’s Great Southwest.

Andrew Kendall and Rhonda Wilson Strasser have teamed up to launch what they hope will become a tradition for years to come in the Paw Paw Lakes neighborhood. Every Sunday from 9am until 4pm an eclectic array of vendors will set up shop in the Coloma Open Air Market at 248 Washington in Coloma for what is essentially a “Coloma Pickers Flea Market,” of fun and bargains filling virtually an entire city block.

Things got up and running for the first time over the Memorial Day Weekend, and admission is free. Additionally, whenever there is still space to be had, vendors of all kinds are welcome to seek out a space to peddle their wares.

As Rhonda puts it, “The Coloma Open Air Market is proud to be presenting the Coloma Pickers Flea Market in beautiful downtown Coloma every Sunday to liven up your lazy summer Sundays.” She strongly encourages the entire family to experience “the outdoor festival atmosphere, while enjoying a true treasure hunting adventure, Picker-Style!”

Vendors can lease a 10 x 10 foot space for just $25, while commercial vendors can lease for just $50. You’ll find vintage offerings, foods, home-crafts, and a lot more and Rhonda promises, “Aside from being “Junk Drunk” as you shop all of the unique vendors peddling their wares, you can expect to see and hear live entertainment and enjoy the opportunity to grab a bite to eat from one of the food vendors on site.”

Visitors are welcome to just show up on any given Sunday to begin picking. For vendors hopeful of grabbing some space, you should call 269-588-9003.

Who knows…you might strike a deal for that most treasured bucket-list collection you’ve always wanted to get underway. Make plans to hit the Coloma Open Air Market this Sunday and every Sunday all summer long in the center of Coloma.
