The City of New Buffalo is preparing to roll out the red carpet to welcome a brand new cafe and coffee shop in the coming months. Issa Vibe Cafe will be hard to miss, with the bright colored logo plastered on the front of the building (and lots of parking too!). It sits on the corner of Townsend and Buffalo streets, inhabiting the former clothing boutique, Adelaide.
“Issa Vibe Café will obviously be a whole vibe,” says owner Jeremy Gallo. “Our interior design will provide photo opportunities everywhere you turn,” offering an unparalleled aesthetic and journey, each time you dine.
“We consider ourselves to be a High End Café. We believe in excellence in the experience from before you walk in until you leave, stimulating all the senses,” Jeremy says. “We’ll provide excellent service to our guests, great music, and plenty of seating.”
Issa Vibe Cafe will offer third wave coffee, serving delicious brews from Onyx Coffee Lab, a sustainable coffee company that continues to leave its mark in the coffee world. Onyx, with its four locations in Arkansas, works tirelessly to provide an exceptional cup: strengthening their personal relationships between the growers and farmers, using solar energy in their roasting facilities, and “never settling for good enough coffee”.
“Third wave coffee is important to quality and taste, and there aren’t any third wave cafes in the area,” Jeremy says. “My wife Christa and I are from Chesterton IN, and have worked in this area for years. We are friends with the owners of the building, and have had our eye on New Buffalo as the spot for our cafe for a while. This building is perfect for our vision!”
With walls of windows and an abundance of natural light, this new place will be thriving with life. Live plants will spill into the cafe area, with bright colors and growth adding to (and matching) the energy of the space. “We are looking into the possibility of having outdoor seating, too, if we can build a large patio deck in the spring,” says Jeremy.
This new hotspot will serve eclectic paninis, coffee bar mixed drinks, delicious in-house desserts, and will have glassware and dinnerware for dine-in to complement their attention to detail in this culinary experience. “We will keep some recipes a surprise, but let’s just say there will be colorful drinks; all syrups and flavorings will be made in house. We can’t wait to VIBE!” he adds.
With plans to open sometime in January 2023, the Gallo’s are incredibly busy with renovating, updating, and dreaming. This winter will be dedicated to preparing Issa Vibe Cafe for its grand opening, and then the cafe has plans to be open year-round. Take a peek at the gorgeous logo as you pass 211 E. Buffalo Street in New Buffalo, and watch for updates on their progress! Congratulations and welcome to Southwest Michigan!
