Almost every day of the year on the calendar is a “special day”, declared by one group or another representing an interest group or recognizing their contributions or achievements. And so it is that Tuesday, January 25th is “National Plan a Vacation Day”, according to the US Travel Association and Kampgrounds of America (KOA).
Michigan’s Great Southwest is home to one of those ‘kampgrounds’, the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday, located in Hagar Township. Owner Mark Lemoine tells us that KOA as a national network celebrated another record year in 2021. KOA reported impressive growth of more than 33% in registration income, 15% in camper nights, and 51% in advance deposits over 2020.
Lemoine commented, “It is our privilege to help guests leave the pressures and stress of work behind as we fulfill our mission to help people connect with the outdoors and each other. Planning and reserving a camping trip not only guarantees that experience, but gives you the immediate cathartic benefit of having something fun to which you can look forward.” He added, “If you’re thinking about reserving a camping trip this year, my advice is ‘Don’t Wait’ else you may be unable to find a site’.”
Lemoine says he’s made numerous improvements in their park over than past six years, including most recently adding five new deluxe cabins to their offerings.
