One of downtown St. Joseph’s unique culinary pleasures is going away—at least for now.
Mimi’s Cupcakes—the cute little truck and the storefront up the street—will not reopen for the season. A transfer of ownership had been underway, but it’s apparently fallen through, according to a social media update this weekend.

Hello friends,
As you know, Mimi’s Cupakes & more has been up for sale. We had been under contract and finalizing things with a new owner who was going to do amazing things. Unfortunately, after months of being under contract, we ran into some snags.
Our building was also for sale during this process. With the new ownership of the building, it became clear that working together with our new landlord was not feasible and Mimi’s was being slowly pushed out of the building that had been our home for over 10 years. This put my buyers in an understandable tough spot and after much consideration & planning of how they could continue with the purchase, they decided they’d have to end their dream of owning Mimi’s (which also ended my dream of selling Mimi’s and having the yumminess continue).
So, Mimi’s Cupcakes & more, storefront & truck, will be closed indefinitely. Do you or someone you know want to take on a new adventure? The name, the truck, the recipes, tons of equipment and supplies are waiting for you! If you or anyone you know is interested, make an offer! Please contact Kelsey Jarvis, (269) 519-7920.

The Mimi’s Cupcakes truck has been a fixture on the corner of Broad Street and Lake Boulevard for years. Their storefront has been located at 610 Broad Street in what many call the ‘Old Troost Furniture Building’, near Broad Street Café (the Old Fire Station… as long as we are showing our age..).
No doubt cupcake connoisseurs are in mourning to0day, hoping someone steps up to keep the Mimi’s tradition going. Stay tuned!
