Michigan Chamber announces two SWMI leaders

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce is announcing two new Southwest Michigan community members have joined their 2024-25 Board of Directors.

The Chamber announced Eleanor Reece, Whirlpool Corporation’s Vice President of Global Communications and Arthur Havlicek President & CEO of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber of Commerce have been elected to the business organization’s board. They both  joined the board this week.

Michigan Chamber President & CEO Jim Holcomb welcomed Reece and Havlicek to their new roles.

“The Michigan Chamber and our state’s businesses, communities and families will be served well with the expertise and perspectives of Eleanor and Arthur. Their commitment to innovation, pragmatic problem solving and civility, and ensuring our state’s economic competitiveness will be a great guide for the Chamber’s work in 2024.”

Reece has been with Whirlpool Corporation since 2019, first as senior director of global communications, after serving across various communications and government relations roles in the private sector, including with General Motors, CNN International, and consulting for other industries. She holds her bachelor’s degree in international affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Havlicek has been at the helm of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber for four years. Before that, he served in multiple policy and outreach roles in the Michigan House of Representatives and has been recognized with numerous awards. He holds his bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from Grand Valley State University.

According to the Michigan Chamber, they are guided by 84 volunteer leaders who comprise their Board of Directors. The directors represent member employers of every size and industry from across Michigan.
