Thursday is the Maytag Day of Dependability at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor.
Maytag’s Lindsay Jones tells us about 15 Maytag volunteers will be there to serve up a meal.
“We have volunteers from Maytag brand and across the company come together to serve a Thanksgiving meal to around 250 youth and teens in Benton Harbor,” Jones said. “It’s a really great time having them come to the line, asking how their day is, serving them a warm meal, and celebrating what we’re thankful for with them.”
The meal will be chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, and cookies.
Jones says they’ve held the event around Thanksgiving each year since 2019. She’s looking forward to serving the young people of Benton Harbor this week.
“It’s really a great opportunity to support the kids and give back to the Benton Harbor community.”
They’ll also have face painting and the kids will put on a presentation, which could include songs, skits, or dances.
Jones says they call it the Day of Dependability because that’s what Maytag wants to be for the youth of Benton Harbor — dependable.
