Police in Watervliet are hoping that if you saw something you will say something…especially if you know one or more of the three armed men who held up the Watervliet Citgo Station just minutes before midnight last night, Tuesday, March 27th, 2018.
Michigan State Police say that three men wearing masks entered the Citgo service station and convenience store at 3831 M-140 in Waterviet Township around 11:55 last night. One of the men, armed with a handgun, demanded cash from the two clerks on duty who complied.
The other two men in masks grabbed lottery tickets and stole a cellphone from a customer who happened to be inside the station at the time of the robbery. All three then fled on foot into a getaway vehicle and left the scene of the crime.
State Police Troopers Whitaker and Baublit from the Niles State Police Post say that the men involved were all wearing dark clothing, hoodies and masks and the getaway car was a dark colored sedan, possibly a Pontiac.
Police ask if anyone has information about the robbery to call the Michigan State Police. State Troopers were assisted on the scene by the Watevliet City Police Department and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
