With holiday activities mostly over and the kids looking at several days of their holiday break still ahead of them, parents are always looking for things to do and places to go.
Michigan Maritime Museum is ready to fill some your days of break with some nautical family fun n activities in the Museum’s Jerry Mason Learning Center.
Friday, January 3, you can get a behind-the-scenes experience with volunteers and staff of the Museum’s Winter Work Session crew in the Padnos Boat Shed where you’ll learn about tall ship Friends Good Will and vessel maintenance, linework, knot tying and more!
Saturday January 4, you can pick up the Maritime Days Adventure Agenda that includes scavenger hunts, activities, games, and exhibit explorations throughout the whole campus.
“Whether you have been to the Museum before or this is your first visit, Maritime Days are a fun and different way to interact with us during the winter that is great for folks of all ages,” says Ashley Deming, Director of Education & Programs. “Not only can you explore the Museum and exhibits, but you also get the chance to enjoy the beauty of our wintery harbor along the Black River. Our Great Lakes and waterways are truly something special in the winter too.”
The Museum invites people to engage with maritime history all year long and see the different activities going on in the winter from their waterside location.
All Maritime Days activities are included with Museum admission. Bring the whole family and join in Maritime Days!
