Not even commercial package delivery people are safe some times. We’re just learning today about an incident on the afternoon of August 13th, when Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call for help from a package delivery driver whose vehicle was struck by gunfire around 4:20 that afternoon while simply driving down the street on 44th Street near 118th in Valley Township.
The delivery driver was not injured in the incident, but his passenger side window was destroyed by the flying bullets. There was no indication as to which delivery service the driver was employed by.
Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted two days later to a potential suspect involved in that case and say that later that same day, on August 15th, they arrested a man by the name of Michael Christopher Lloyd, who was later arraigned in Allegan County’s 57th District Court for his involvement in the incident.
Authorities say they have no motive in the shooting, and their investigation is continuing. They didn’t explain the delay in reporting the incident or the arrest when dispatching their news on the matter this afternoon, 11 days later.
