In the wake of the Federal Emergency declaration in the community of Flint, St. Joseph-based LECO Corporation has joined a collaborative launched by Troy Rolling and his redtie Concierge company of Benton Harbor to craft another major clean water drive to help the cause.
Rolling says that redtie Concierge is partnering with LECO Corporation, Blue Roof Church of St. Joseph and the Lakeshore Public School system in the current drive for donations of bottled water. With the City of Flint continuing to suffer the ill-effects of lead-contaminated water which has rendered its fresh water supply undrinkable, local folks are adding to the collection effort.
Rolling says they are asking local citizens to help Flint by donating a case or multiple cases of bottled water, with the stated goal of sending two full truckloads of bottled water to Flint by the end of the month.
Lakeshore Public Schools will be receiving water from now through 3pm on Friday, January 29th. Water donations may be dropped off at the Sports Entrance on the south end of the High School, located at 5771 Cleveland Avenue in Stevensville.
Blue Roof Church at 3084 Niles Road in St. Joseph will also be receiving water donations throughout the day until 1pm on Sunday, January 31st. Office hours there are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9am until 2pm this weekend.
Additionally, Rolling says his redtie Concierge team will pick up small donations of water if you call 269-849-9133. Any tax deductible monetary donation is welcome as well, with checks made to Blue Roof Church.
