LMC’s Mendel Center Delivers New Micro-Wedding Options

The countless numbers of disappointed couples forced to rethink, relocate, reconsider or even postpone their wedding plans due to the pandemic are learning today that some new, scaled-back options featuring live streaming and micro-wedding packages are being offered by the innovators at Lake Michigan College’s Mendel Center, which has hosted hundreds of wedding receptions over the past several decades.

Mendel Center organizers say that as everyone gradually emerges from stay-at-home measures, and couples planning to marry have to decide how to navigate the list of new health and safety protocols that have changed the way weddings and events are experienced, they have some new solutions. The Mendel Center at LMC is helping couples adapt by introducing several creative options that let love move forward.

Live stream and micro wedding packages at The Mendel Center provide couples with an elegant and affordable way to tie the knot during uncertain times. While a limited number of closest friends and family personally attend the wedding in person in compliance with limits on gatherings, a wider circle of friends and relatives can share in the ceremony through a professionally produced live stream of the event.

Ceremonies will be held on stage in The Mendel Center’s newly renovated Hanson Theatre. Live stream services include professional videography, audio, lighting, and video uploading.

Mark Sumney, Sales and Operations Manager at The Mendel Center, says, “Current State guidelines for our region allow for up to 10 people to gather for indoor events. Now couples don’t have to decide between delaying their wedding and having many of the important people in their lives miss out on the big day. The live stream micro wedding allows them to begin their lives together without anyone missing out on the experience.”

Sumney adds that The Mendel Center will be able to accommodate increases in the number of attendees if restrictions on the size of indoor gatherings are loosened after a couple books their event.

Packages include venue rental, multi-camera live streaming, music, flowers, decorations, and a post-ceremony champagne toast reception for up to 20 people. Couples also receive discounted room rental for a full reception when gathering restrictions are lifted. Micro wedding packages are also available that do not include live stream services.
