What Town Do You Reside In?
St. Joseph
Where were you born?
St. Joseph
What was your first job?
I had two different “first time jobs” when I turned 16! I started working as a carhop/waitress at Eddie’s Drive-In in Coloma (Roller skates and all). I was also the front desk receptionist and part-time dance instructor at the Patrice School of Dance in Coloma.
Best advice you ever got?
How you do anything is how you do everything. (And always make your bed in the morning)
Who inspires you most?
My parents and my husband. My mom and dad are both very hardworking people (they never stay still). I credit both of them for my work ethic. My husband is my biggest cheerleader. His continued support inspires me to keep going, even on my toughest days.
That one thing about you we’d be most surprised to learn.
Prior to my journey in wealth management at RMB Capital, I worked in broadcasting for 7 years. I was an intern at Fox 17 News in Grand Rapids. I served as the afternoon radio personality on 97.5 Y-Country and hosted “Got Something to Say with Lindsay Kay” on WSJM News.
What do you love to do in your downtime?
Exercising. I love exercise and movement in general. Walking, running, strength training & the Peloton bike/tread are my favorite. I spend as much time as I can with my daughter, niece and nephew. I’m also guilty of enjoying a good true crime podcast & a glass of red wine.
What book are you reading now?
I have a newborn at home right now and most of the books I’m reading are to her. We try to read 3-5 books each day. My personal favorite is the children’s book: “The Fearless Octopus”
Volunteer activity you love the most.
Working with the Blossomtime Festival. I am very passionate about the Blossomtime program and the opportunity it provides to local youth. Each year I volunteer as the emcee for the Blossomtime Bud Prince and Princess contest and a variety of local community pageants. It is rewarding to be involved with a program that helps to teach interview skills & build self confidence.
What motivates you to give back to your community?
Wanting my daughter and the youth in our community to grow up and enjoy living here as much as I did growing up. I have great appreciation for the people I’ve gotten to work with and the experiences I’ve had living in Southwest Michigan. I’m motivated to to give back to the community that gave so much to me.
What Superpower would you most love to have? (for example, the ability to fly or to be invisible, or incredible strength, etc)
The ability to create more time in the day.
What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone?
It is important to me to help those in in need: friends, family & colleagues. Be it a listening ear, advice or training opportunity. I always stop what I am doing to assist others when they are in need. With these interactions, I hope I motivate others to go fourth and provide the same compassion during their engagements.
What does the  honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you?
It means that hard work pays off. I am grateful that my superiors notice and appreciate my efforts. The nomination they submitted is truly an honor. Additionally, Pat Moody is a former colleague and a dear friend to me. Pat has worked, and continues to work countless hours for his community. Being named to the “Moody on the Market 40 Under 40” makes me very proud as Pat has been one of my mentors and role models throughout my career.
