The Michigan Chamber and the Small Business Association of Michigan are supporting a bill introduced in the state House and Senate to help Michigan-based businesses successfully procure contracts with the state. State Representative Graham Filler, a co-sponsor, told Michigan News Network how it would work.
“This would just give a short window, if in fact they didn’t choose the Michigan company, for the Michigan company to reevaluate their bid and possibly make another bid,” Filler said. “A lot of states have this type of legislation, just because there’s an understanding that keeping tax dollars in the state really has a benefit for the state of Michigan.”
Filler says that means a Michigan business could re-evaluate their bid and possibly make a better bid within a short period. He says keeping tax dollars in the state really has a benefit for the state.
