State Senator Kim LaSata is urging everyone to join her in recognizing Michigan Ag Day next week. Her office tells us more:
Sen. Kim LaSata on Wednesday stressed the importance of agriculture to our state and economy and voiced her support for Michigan’s hardworking farmers.
Michigan farms contribute billions to the state’s economy each year through products grown, harvested, processed and prepared in Michigan. Farms also employ a significant portion of the state’s workforce.
“The agriculture industry is a critical economic driver for our state — especially here in Southwest Michigan,” said LaSata, R-Niles. “Every March, we celebrate Michigan agriculture and recognize the hard work of Michigan farmers and their dedication to feeding families and keeping grocery store shelves stocked.
“This year, Ag Day falls on Tuesday, March 22, and I encourage everyone to join the annual celebration and support our family farms by purchasing some ‘Made in Michigan’ products.”
