The Michigan Department of Transportation is giving everyone a heads up on roadwork along I-196 in Southwest Michigan that could cause some slow downs or delays due to lane closures over the next three weeks.
MDOT Communications Rep John Richard from the Grand Region office in Grand Rapids says that roadwork is slated to get underway tomorrow morning, Friday, May 1st at 7am and will continue for three weeks, with an expected wrap up on Friday, May 22nd.
The work is slated for eastbound I-196 from Ottogan Street at the Allegan/Ottawa County line, and run northeast to Byron Road which is the Zeeland Exit #55.
Richard says the work is weather dependent, and travelers can get up-to-date information on that project and others at this link: http://www.michigan.gov/drive
