A young man, his grandmother, their bikes and a heart-warming story-line have led the way for Lakeland Health in St. Joseph to win a coveted media award even amid thousands of entries world wide. The crew at Lakeland is ecstatic over their Bronze trophy in the 37th Annual Telly Awards.
With over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, Lakeland Health is exhibiting great pride today after learning they have been named a Bronze winner in the annual award line up, especially after winning for their piece titled “Get Back to Living the Life you Love.”
The goal of the broadcast campaign, which portrayed a grandmother riding a bicycle alongside her grandson, was to encourage community members to not let joint pain limit them from the activities they enjoy and to seek out a Lakeland orthopedic surgeon.
A prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work with only 25-percent of entries chosen as winners of the Bronze Telly.
Christopher Johnson is Senior Video Production Specialist for Lakeland. He says, “When developing the idea for this commercial, our team was looking to catch people’s eye with a visually compelling and emotionally resonant piece that told a story most people who suffer with joint pain can relate to,” He adds, “We’re honored to have been recognized by the Telly Awards for our work.”
Linda Day is Executive Director of the Telly Awards. She tells us, “The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video.” She points out that, “Lakeland Health’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”
Lakeland Health offers patients access to a highly trained team of six orthopedic surgeons who complete hundreds of surgeries each year and provide treatment to thousands of patients throughout southwest Michigan and beyond.
