Lake Michigan College Rolls Out Campus Tours and Summer Registration

There aren’t many things that will make a high school student break into a cold sweat so much as the potential for being required to head to “summer school.” The phrase itself strikes terror and dread like few others, but for those who are well beyond actual high school days, or those who want to capitalize on advancing more rapidly than their peer group, the concept of “summer school” means a distinct leg up on the competition.

Those working to get a jump on things or just keep learning at a pace others might shy away from welcome the idea of taking classes at Lake Michigan College during the summer months. The good news for those folks is that registration at LMC is now open, meaning students can meet their academic goals in a fast and fun environment. Most classes are only 10 weeks long, and the small class sizes make learning very personal.

Recent high school graduates who are college-bound can get a head start. Students who attend other colleges or universities who are home for summer can enroll as guest students with credits that transfer and save money in the process. The team at LMC asks a key question to those on the fence, “Did you know that the average university tuition is three times higher than LMC?”

Administrators add, “Whether you need to finally get that Intro to Chemistry requirement fulfilled or are working on finishing your LMC degree faster, there is a course here for you. The summer term begins May 13th and ends August 22nd with classes in seven, 10 and 14-week sessions.”

Classes are offered online, as well as on the Benton Harbor, South Haven, and Niles campuses. Recruiters ask, “Did we mention you can study on the beach?” The Napier Campus in Benton Harbor is just 7 miles from Lake Michigan’s sandy shoreline, while South Haven is just 3 miles away, and you are only an half hour away from as many as three beaches in Niles.

All prospective students and guests are invited to attend special monthly Saturday tours at LMC’s Benton Harbor campus held at 11 am on both April 13th and May 18th.

Those who go will learn about the college admissions process, financial aid, and scholarships, and can tour facilities including the Hanson Technology Center and the Beckwith Residence Hall.
