This summer middle and high school students from virtually any community, including home-schooled students, can join the excitement of summer enrichment programs from the team at Lake Michigan Catholic Schools.
LMC continues to foster a passion for hands-on, experiential learning by offering several new project-based summer enrichment opportunities open to all students in Southwest Michigan.
LMC Middle/High School Principal James White says, “We want to encourage a love for learning,” and adds, “It’s exciting to acquire new skills and gain new knowledge, especially in an innovative educational environment. Whether you attend Lake Michigan Catholic or not, we are offering all students in our community the opportunity to bring learning to life through our summer enrichment programs.”
Middle and high school summer enrichment programs are open to all public, private and homeschooled students in Southwest Michigan. The programs include:
- The Cracked Egg (June 7 – 11 and June 14 – 18) – In this series, 6th – 12th graders will boil, bake, slice and sauté their way through the kitchen. Each week they will learn how to prepare meals from scratch for special guests.
- Science World: STEM Challenges (June 14 – 18) – During this lab-based science enrichment course, 6th – 9th graders will engage in collaborative, project-based learning opportunities. From coding and flying drones to hands-on experiments and more, students will gain a better understanding and appreciation of the scientific world.
- Mixed Reality zSpace Experiences (June 21 – 25) – 6th – 12th graders will immerse themselves in virtual and augmented reality technology. Students work collaboratively to explore the mechanics of the human body by “lifting” objects from the screen to examine and manipulate.
- Global Trading: Wall Street 101 (June 21 – 25) – 6th – 9th graders will explore the world of finance through fun and interactive activities in LMC’s Monte Global Trading and Finance Lab.
