Krasl Art Fair Announces Artist Awards As Crowds Enjoy Sunday Sunshine

The Krasl Art Fair continues thru 5pm Sunday in St. Joseph’s Lake Bluff Park.  There’s a $ 5 admission fee for persons over 12, payable at the entrance points.  Artist Exhibitor Awards were announced Sunday morning by the Krasl Board of Directors, as detailed here:

Every year an onsite jury of arts experts visit every artist booth and scores it based on the same criteria used in the pre-fair jury. The onsite scores determine the Category Award Winners. There are 10 categories total and each recipient receives the invitation to the 2024 fair, as well as a $200 cash award. Krasl Art Center’s Board of Directors also selects an artist from any category for the KAC Board Choice Award. Continuing this year, there is the Spirit of Olga Award, in honor of KAC’s benefactress Olga Krasl. The award’s criteria includes artistic merit, personal character, poise, a sense of community, and appreciation of travel – all in honor of Mrs. Krasl’s personal traits.

The hybrid award ceremony – held virtually on Krasl Art Center’s YouTube Page and on their grounds – was Sunday at 9 am. Winning artists are also posted throughout the event, on Facebook, Instagram, and at krasl.org
