There will be one less place for you to shop locally until at least April 1st. Kohl’s has joined the growing list of retailers ceasing operations for the short term to help halt the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The Fairplain Plaza store in Benton Harbor joins all other Kohl’s in the shutdown which began at 7pm tonight.
Kohl’s announced today that as the result of the escalating COVID-19 pandemic the company is temporarily closing its stores nationwide effective today, Thursday, March 19th at 7 pm.local time.
Michelle Gass is CEO at Kohl’s. She says, “To demonstrate our support of the efforts underway to contain the spread of the coronavirus, we are closing all Kohl’s stores through at least April 1st. We will support store associates with two calendar weeks of pay,” and adds, “We will continue to serve customers on Kohls.com and our Kohl’s App, and we look forward to reopening our stores soon to serve families across the country.”
Kohl’s will continue to serve its millions of customers through Kohls.com and Kohl’s App and will ship their desired items directly to their homes.
