As most people have expected, retailers who announced shutdowns during the pandemic even before orders to shelter-in-place cropped up in many states are now extending the shutdown deadline.
Kohl’s announced to customers today, they have “decided to extend our temporary store closures until further notice, for the health and safety of our associates.”
Kohl’s Chief Executive Officer Michelle Gass says, “As the world and our country come together to manage through the COVID-19 pandemic, I hope that you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.” She adds, “In recent weeks, we have all needed to take extreme steps for the health and well-being or our shared communities. Our hearts are with those diagnosed with the virus, and our deepest gratitude goes out to the heroes of this moment, including the doctors, nurses, health care professionals and everyone on the front line across the country who are displaying incredible bravery to support the greater good. They set an inspiring example for all of us.”
Gass says, “At Kohl’s we remain committed to the national efforts in slowing the spread of the virus,” and points out the extension of their closure until further notice.
Saying they continue to monitor the situation and “will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so,” she reminds that the retailer continues to serve those who shop online through Kohls.com and with the Kohl’s App, 24/7 with shipping directly to your home.
One addition cited by Gass is that beginning this Thursday, April 2nd, Kohl’s will be offering a new curbside pick-up service to provide more convenient options to shop with them. That will enable you to shop online and get your items within 2-hours through limited contact, curbside pick-up, “available at most stores daily between the hours of 11am and 7pm.” Those items that are available for such service will be marked at Kohls.com with the marker “Drive-Up.” After placing an order online, you will simply pull up next to the designated Drive-Up sign, call the store and an associate will bring your items to your car and place them directly into your trunk for you. Further details on the service will be available on line starting on Thursday.
