Kinsey Gaver Joins the Moody on the Market 40 Under 40 Class of 2024

Name: Kinsey Gaver

Company: Chan’s Garden

What Does Your Company/Organization Do? We are a Cantonese-American style Chinese Restaurant located in the heart of downtown St. Joe for over 50 years. We offer dine in, carry out, and delivery.

Age: 25

Education: I graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 2017.

Accomplishments:
Taking care of my mental health is by far my biggest accomplishment. It has improved my life greatly in so many ways. In terms of the restaurant, I’ve been able to help bridge the gap between customer concerns and improve the quality of our food and service. It has resulted in overwhelming positive feedback from our community.

What else do you hope to accomplish by the age of 40? I hope to run a business with my wonderful partner. Most likely we will take over the legacy of Chan’s when his family decides to retire. If not, we may start a new restaurant or a different business.

Current City: Saint Joseph

Place You Were Born: Saint Joseph

What was your first job? I was a part time receptionist at Fort Miami CrossFit.

What motivates you to give back to your community? We really wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our community. They have gone so far to support us even in difficult times. We are so lucky to live in a place where everyone works hard to lift each other up, and it only feels right to give back as much as possible.

What Superpower would you most love to have? Teleportation or Super Speed! Something that would save me some extra time.

What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone? I hope I can inspire people to be supportive of each other and strive to improve on themselves every day. I want people to learn and grow from their mistakes instead of living in fear of making them. It’s taken me a long time to get to where I am today and I’m so grateful for the patience I have for myself and from my loved ones. I hope other people can find that peace in themselves.

What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you? To be honest, I am both shocked and honored to make the 40 under 40 this year. I never could have expected to be nominated for the list. Everyone has worked so hard to get here and their recognition is well deserved. It inspires me to keep improving on myself and support those around me.
