Even at an early age while reading the comic strips we all learned that the picture of a light bulb coming on represented the concept of a good idea, so it’s little wonder that the folks at LunarGlo of Elkhart — who invented special lighting for a specific purpose — wants to help other folks with great ideas for a good invention through the Michiana Inventors Club.
Rex Barton, who co-owns LunarGlo with Judy Barton, hopes that everyone with an idea for an invention or anyone who already has an invention in progress, of anyone who would just like to learn how to even start the invention process, will head to Elkhart for the September monthly meeting of the Michiana Inventors Club for a great idea exchange at Central Hardware on Old U.S. Highway 33 West in Elkhart.
Barton, who earned his degree in mechanical engineering from Tri-State College of Angola, Indiana, has spent most of his professional years in the Architectural Aluminum field for various companies across the Midwest. But, his passion for problem solving led him to recognize the need for solar lighting in the portable restroom industry as well as for utility trailers and similar applications. So, six years ago in 2012 he embarked on a mission to develop an inexpensive and reliable solar light that would serve the needs of most industries.
Today, Rex, Judy, and their Lead Engineer Ralph McIntire, Jr. operate LunarGlo, manufacturers of solar lighting, solar ventilation fans, and other products at their facility in Elkhart.
He also continues his passion for helping others with great ideas to achieve their dreams by sharing ideas and support at the regular sessions of the Michiana Inventors Club. He tells me that over the next several months, the club will feature guest speakers from a variety of sources “Giving guidance to attendees from both the legal and manufacturing side of product development.”
If you’d like to attend, registration can be accomplished by calling 574-294-2624 and asking for Rex. Registration will close on September 25th…and the meeting will take place on Thursday, September 27th beginning at 6:30pm Indiana time. The meeting will be hosted in the back building at Central Hardware located at 28459 Old U.S. Highway 33 West in Elkhart.
LunarGlo co-owner Judy Barton attended Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac and for the past 21 years was employed by Polytron Corporation and Poly Electronics in Elkhart. She is considered the driving force behind LunarGlo, insuring that sales efforts move in the right direction and that the accounting/management side of the business is operating efficiently.
LunarGlo manufactures cutting edge solar lighting and ventilation products, and recently introduced new LunarGlo Light Lens lighting for lighted docks, walkways and other common areas.
Will your next bright idea make the light bulb come on and earn you some fame and fortune?
