Inn at Harbor Shores

It appears the place to be on New Year’s Eve in Southwest Michigan is The Inn at Harbor Shores. They’re planning a blow-out evening to welcome the calendar’s Quarter Century mark—2025!

MoodyOnTheMarket.com learned all about the plans in a conversation with Inn at Harbor Shores Sales Director Elizabeth Hacker:

“The big party is in the ballroom on the second floor and our theme is Boogie into the New Year. It’s a disco themed party and we’ll have a DJ, dinner, appetizers, dancing, champagne toast and fireworks over the harbor. That’s a twist nobody else has!  And with our ultimate package they can book an overnight stay, two tickets for the party, and a late checkout of noon on January 1st.”

Hacker tells us there are several options for partygoers besides the overnight package:

“They can also book just the dinner and party ticket for $125, which is the hors d’oeuvres, surf and turf entrée, dessert, the dancing, champagne toast, and fireworks. You can purchase the tickets on Eventbrite.  Entry starts at 7 o’clock. And if they just want to come to the party—no dinner—we also sell those tickets for $45 for just the party. Entry starts at 9pm. That’s going to also include your champagne toast as well and late-night snack.”

Ticket prices are per person and do not include tax, gratuity and Eventbrite processing fee. The dress is Smart Casual, with attendees encouraged, but not required, to embrace the ‘disco’ theme of the party.

Inn at Harbor Shores General Manager Brady Cohen says there are only a few rooms left for the overnight party package deal.  Cohen says it’s a great way to usher in the New Year because you have everything covered. You can party with friends, not worry about driving and then sleep in New Year’s morning before enjoying Brunch at Plank’s Tavern before heading home.

For those looking for a less intense New Years Eve—perhaps dinner and a cocktail—Hacker and Cohen invite you to consider a dinner reservation at Plank’s Tavern, on the main floor inside the Inn.  Plank’s has one of the region’s most varied and delicious dinner menus and will have several New Year’s Eve specials.  Plus, Plank’s expertly mixed cocktails and a great wine selection with which to toast the New Year.

If a New Year’s Day celebration is more your thing, Plank’s Tavern has you covered! It’s The Recovery Brunch!

The Holiday Season is a time for friends to get together, perhaps even more often and enthusiastically than other times of the year.  With that in mind, Brady suggests that you get together at Plank’s Tavern, versus your regular gathering spot, to make it a little special…

“… Because Plank’s is a great place! We’ve got our Christmas decorations up. It feels very festive. We’ve got some great drinks on our menu. We’ve got some special nights of the week. Pasta & Pinot night Tuesdays, Sushi night on Wednesdays, half-off Burgers on Thursday and Fish & Chips Friday.

But then of course, there’s Happy Hour weeknights, which is just a really great option right after work, up until 6 o’clock! Four to six daily Monday through Thursday.  You have half off beer and wine. So, you can get a nice glass of wine for five bucks.  And four dollars for a beer and four dollars off appetizers.  Monday through Thursday four to six at Plank’s.”

A couple of other Plank’s Tavern Specials to be aware of are Sunday 1/2 off pizza, wings, and $6 draft beer, and Monday 1/2 off select wine and martinis. So any night is a good night for Plank’s!

Elizabeth Hacker reminds us that some companies don’t plan their parties or get-togethers before the holiday season, because there’s just so much going on in our lives today. If your company or organization is thinking about a gathering in 1st Quarter (or anytime), Elizabeth has just the spaces you’re looking for—at The Inn.

“We have our Boardroom, which has a conference table in it, but it’s great for a party of smaller than 20, especially with a buffet setup. And then we have our Waterside room. The full room is from 20 to about 50, maybe even 60.  You can have your own private bar in that space as well. Usually we’ll do round tables, but we can pretty much do anything.”

“And then we can also separate that into two rooms, Waterside East and Waterside West, for even smaller gatherings. So, there’s a lot of different options. And in all the rooms you’ve got the ‘harbor view’ outside the window… it looks beautiful in the winter!  And then of course we have the big ballroom if you have a larger group. But it even works well with groups 60 and up, all the way to 300.”

Total flexibility for your future group gatherings at The Inn at Harbor Shores, 800 Whitwam Drive, just North of downtown St. Joseph on the River Channel
