If You’ve Got Great Photos, the West Michigan Tourist Assoc. Wants Them

The splendor of our region is readily evident virtually every single day, and there are many talented folks in our midst who capture that splendor in striking photographs all the time. By way of example, Molly Shuler Pate of Berrien Springs ventures to the lake shore seemingly every day rain, sleet, snow, ice or shine. As a result she manages to save breathtaking moments we can all revel in, like the one accompanying this story on Moody on the Market. If you do that too, it’s time to share your work and potentially win some great prizes and notoriety.

The West Michigan Tourist Association (WMTA) is excited to announce the launch of their 2018 West Michigan Photo Contest. With so much beauty found in West Michigan, the West Michigan Tourist Association wants travelers to show off what they love most about this beautiful side of the state, and win some great West Michigan prizes.

The contest is looking for traveler photo submissions from all around West Michigan. The region covers the entire west side of Michigan from Harbor Country along the Indiana border, north to Mackinac Island and into the Upper Peninsula.

All photo entries must be received by July 31st, 2018 for public voting by WMTA’s Facebook audience. Last year, more than 35,000 votes were cast during the public vote. All winning photos will be featured in WMTA’s upcoming West Michigan Carefree Travel Guide, printed in January of 2018. The first place photo will also be featured on the cover of the Guide.

Additional prizes awarded to the top three photos include items from the JW Marriott in Grand Rapids, Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, and the Lake Express High Speed Ferry in Muskegon.

The accepted photo formats are high resolution (300 dpi+) jpeg or tiff. CMYK is preferred. You can e-mail your submissions to PhotoContest@WMTA.org and include the full name of the photographer, the Michigan city in which the photograph was taken, and a short description of the photo. While you should submit one photo per email, multiple entries per person are allowed.
