If Clutter is Your Companion, It’s Time to Think Rightsizing

When you travel from one room in your house to another, do you find yourself having to carefully maneuver through stacks of stuff with seemingly every turn? When you need to find something in a hurry has it become virtually impossible because you have so many piles to sort through, or boxes and bins to search? If those scenarios are event remotely concerning, it’s time to get some professional help in figuring out what can stay and what needs to go.

The Region IV Area Agency on Aging will offer the Aging Mastery Program elective class called Rightsizing Your Life next Tuesday, October 22nd to help you get yourself grounded and in better control of your personal environment.

The class will provide guidance around the pros and cons of rightsizing (think downsizing) by thinking through both the concerns and upsides to moving to a different living situation, along with the practical considerations of such a move.

You will be able to develop a personalized approach on deciding what to keep and what to let go. The guest speaker will be Susie Marsh from Moxie Life Organizing. Susie is a licensed social worker and serves as the Vice President for the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals in Michigan and is a member of the Institute for Challenging Disorganization.

The Rightsizing Your Life class will be held next Tuesday, October 22nd, from 10:00 to 11:30 am, and will take place at Senior Services of Van Buren County located at 1635 76th Street in South Haven.

The electives are part of a health and wellness program developed by the National Council on Aging. The classes focus on physical/mental health, financial health, or life enrichment. The fee for the class is just $15, and scholarships are available. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
