Honor CU Rewards Biggest Saver Challenge Winners

Over the course of history, the power of compounding and the rewards for adopting a consistent savings plan have paid handsome rewards, and over the past year the team at Honor Credit Union wanted to drive home that point by adopting their Biggest Saver Challenge. Now, the winners have been announced.

Honor Credit Union tells us they have three $500 grand prize winners of the 2019 Biggest Saver Challenge. The challenge ran throughout the entire calendar year of 2019, and was created to encourage and promote consistent money-saving habits through a savings account titled, “Biggest Saver.” Members who opened a Biggest Saver account in 2019 received additional savings tips and were entered to win $500 at the end of the year if certain requirements were met.

Additional incentives were put into place throughout the course of the year to keep members on track to win the grand prize. Members with a Biggest Saver account were eligible to win a quarterly drawing of $100 if they made at least six deposits of any amount into the account during that quarter. To complete the challenge and be eligible to win $500, Honor members with a Biggest Saver account had to make at least 26 deposits of any amount into the account by December 31, 2019. Honor team members who opened a Biggest Saver account in 2019 were entered into a separate internal challenge with the same requirements and incentives.

When the calendar turned to a new year, the Biggest Saver Challenge officially came to an end. With nearly 1,000 members accepting the challenge throughout 2019, Honor is appreciative of the healthy rate of participation. The three $500 Grand Prize Winners are:

  • Theresa Gleason of South Haven
  • Steven Zampese of Negaunee
  • Ryan Meagher of Benton Harbor

Joshua Miller, the lead member of Honor’s Portage team and winner of the internal Biggest Saver award, says, “The Biggest Saver Challenge was a great way to encourage saving for members and team members,” and adds, “I have always been a big saver, and this provided me with an extra incentive to open a second savings account. Before I knew it, my savings tactic added up. At the end of the year, I ended up saving more than I would have without the Biggest Saver Challenge.”

Honor Credit Union serves more than 85,000 members across the State of Michigan, with the driving forces of “Providing solutions for financial success and giving back to the communities we serve.”  For more information, you can call 800.442.2800, or visit online at www.honorcu.com.
