Head to The Hop for Talons Out

Nearly thirty years ago, a junior high school student named Stacy Schermer was making patriotic ribbons to support American troops. She won a "Pat on the Back Award" from the Moody in the Morning Show at that time for her efforts, and clearly she has never strayed from her patriotism.

Now Stacy Shaffer and 2nd Vice President for the Stevensville American Legion Post 568 Auxiliary, she continues her involvement with our American troops and veterans. She has asked me to share with you a very important fundraiser for the Auxiliary to help support the Talons Out Honor Flight program. That's the program that has taken veterans from Berrien County on missions to Washington D.C. in the past and wants to continue that tradition. To help fund future flights for the Talons Out Honor Flight program, Stacy and her colleagues in the Stevensville Auxiliary unit are hosting "A Night at the Hop!"

On Saturday, November 12th from 5pm until 11pm, the Stevensville American Legion Post 568 will be home to some great music and dancing and there will be food and drink available as well. Cover charge tickets are just $10 each and can be obtained by contacting Stacy at 269-921-1340 or by e-mail at stacyshaffer76@gmail.com, or at the Post which is located at 3093 Johnson Road in Stevensville. You can also get them at the door the night of the hop, however advanced ticket sales are much preferred to assure they have the resources to handle the crowd.

It's a very worthy cause, and we can all be impressed that Stacy continues her leadership many years after we gave her a "Pat on the Back," those many years ago.
