“Certified Good Boy” Deputy K9 Faust was recognized by the board of commissioners at its meeting Thursday, after a six-year career with the sheriff’s office.
During his tenure with his partner, Deputy Dave Nevins, Faust had a 70-percent success rate on his tracks, locating more than 135 individuals — 60 suspected criminals, and 75 missing persons, children or specific persons. K9 Faust also located more than 3 kg of illegal substances and five handguns during his tenure.
The board of commissioners wished Faust a happy retirement at home with his family.
