Gino’s East Slated for South Haven Hot Spot

South Haven’s summertime population explodes dramatically, and with a huge contingent from Chicago making up a large chunk of that expansion, it’s little wonder that one of the most prolific providers of Chicago-style deep dish pizza is headed to the Lake Michigan waterfront there.

Gino’s East has revealed on it’s own website that they are establishing a beach head in South Haven this summer, and it will anchor itself in one of the hippest building renovations in that community, the former Joe’s Bar & Grill, the double-decker makeover of what was for years a tire-shop. A likely draw is the spacious outdoor rooftop deck and extensive ground level outdoor seating there.

Look for Gino’s East to take up residence soon at 248 Broadway in South Haven according to the corporate web, however they haven’t pinpointed the exact target date for that site.

It’s a logical move for the popular pizzeria’s first Michigan restaurant with the sizable traffic headed to the shore from the big city virtually every weekend and all summer long.

This will be the 16th site for Gino’s East, with the majority of the chain anchored around the Chicagoland area, but also with locations in Arlington, Texas, Atlanta, Georgia, and Nashville, Tennessee, as well as two in Mexico. A number of retailers also carry frozen versions from Gino’s East, but this will be fresh from scratch in Michigan’s Great Southwest.

The first Gino’s East was launched 52 years ago in 1966, and has grown in fame and fortune ever since as a true destination attraction for visitors to the Windy City.

Stay tuned for further details on the arrival time and date for Gino’s East of South Haven.
