A beloved, familiar destination attraction in the heart of the fruit belt which was a long time attraction as a u-pick and bakery operation has been converted into the latest stop along the craft brewing trail in Michigan’s Great Southwest. The former home of Earl’s Berry Farm on Blue Star Highway is now open as Waypost Brewing Co.
After eight rigorous months of renovations, the Waypost Brewing Co. tasting room at 1630 Blue Star Highway in Fennville is now officially open to the public.
The colorful building houses both the production facility for Waypost and the brewery’s tasting room.
The tasting room is simple, yet purposefully designed and offers a bright, airy space for groups of all sizes. Furniture, designed and created by Goebel & Co. in St. Louis, features both functionality and form. An outdoor seating area features a garden setting and firepit for chilly autumn evenings.
Waypost founders Chuck Steinhardt and Hannah Lee combine their experiences in craft beverage production – a hybrid of winemaking and brewing approaches – to offer a diverse and thoughtful list of beers. Beers range widely, from traditional Belgian styles to contemporary craft beer offerings. However, the farm sits at the center of it all, and Waypost beers reflect and represent the place where they are made through the use of home-grown ingredients, well water, and native flora.
With twelve rotating taps, guests may enjoy flights, beers by the glass, or take something to go in growlers and howlers. Packaged product in bottles and cans will also be available soon. While Waypost offers a small snack menu, guests are also welcome to pack in a picnic and enjoy their time in the house.
The Waypost event calendar is quickly filling up, with live music and seasonal festivities throughout the year. Tasting room hours run from 3 PM-to-9 PM during the week and noon-to-9 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Bookings for groups and holiday parties are now being accepted by Waypost Brewing as well.
