Four Winds Casino in South Bend Debuts New Live Poker Room

Visitors to the Four Winds Casino in South Bend have their first table games since opening the facility with exclusively electronic gaming opportunities as the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians announce that their recently constructed Poker Room at Four Winds South Bend is now open to the public, following a soft opening over the Labor Day weekend.

The poker room, which features live dealers, has a total of 10 tables. Games include $1 – $2 No-Limit Hold’em, $2 – $5 No Limit Hold’em, $3 – $6 Limit Hold’em and $1 – $2 Pot Limit Omaha.

When the announcement was made in July, Chief Operating Officer Frank Freedman said guests have routinely asked for live poker tables. In making today’s announcement, Freedman says, “Now that it’s ready, it’s surpassed our expectations. For fans of the game, the addition of the Poker Room offers something for everyone.”

According to Freedman, poker table games with live dealers fall under the same Class II gaming classification currently offered at Four Winds South Bend.

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ sovereignty was reaffirmed under legislation signed into law by President Clinton in September of 1994. The Band is dedicated to providing community development initiatives such as housing, education, family services, medical care and cultural preservation for its approximately 5,000 citizens.

Its main administrative offices are located in Dowagiac, with a satellite office in South Bend. In 2007, it opened Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, followed by Four Winds Hartford in 2011 and Four Winds Dowagiac in 2013. More information is available at www.pokagonband-nsn.gov.
