The former Deer Forest property has been sold. Deer Forest was a popular attraction in Coloma for decades. Visitors could view and feed deer there. Deer Forest closed in 2014 after years of problems and multiple owners. An effort a couple of years ago to reopen the attraction failed. Now, realtor Rick Levin tells us the 22 acre property sold at auction for $550,000 in March. The buyer was a developer who plans to use the site for a residential area. Levin says the property is “iconic” and his office heard from many Deer Forest visitors who hoped the property could be turned back into the same type of attraction it once was.
