The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Southwest Michigan is expanding its programming for the summer with more locations available throughout the region. The club’s Sherri Ulleg tells us it’s thanks to an Out-of-School Time grant from the Michigan Department of Education.
“To help support education and STEM learning loss during the summer, and part of that is expanding our summer programs to provide opportunities for more young people across Southwest Michigan,” Ulleg said.
Ulleg says the club will have summer programming at its existing locations in Benton Harbor, Benton Heights, Bridgman, South Haven, St. Joseph, and Sturgis with some new additions.
“In addition to our current site, we’ll be adding sites this summer in Buchanan Lawrence at the John and Deedee Howard Ice Arena in St. Joseph, three Oaks and White Pigeon.”
The Boys and Girls Club says its programs will provide kids with a safe place to go during the summer while giving them a chance to learn. Registrations are being taken now and the cost is $5. Go to the website of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Southwest Michigan and click “Member Registration” at the top of the page. The programming starts June 12.
