Eric Wignall named LMC Director of Admissions and Recruitment

Lake Michigan College announces the appointment of Eric Wignall as its new Director of Admissions and Recruitment.

Wignall brings more than two decades of experience in higher education to the role, having served in leadership positions at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, and Ancilla College in Donaldson, Indiana.

As Director of Admissions, Wignall is responsible for recruiting and enrolling new students at Lake Michigan College.

“We are excited to welcome Eric to the LMC Family,” LMC Vice President of Student Affairs Nygil Likely said. “His energy, experience, and leadership will be invaluable as we work with schools, employers, and other community partners to attract and enroll the brightest and most motivated students to our college. He will work closely with our academic departments to ensure prospective students have the information and support to make informed educational decisions.”

Wignall, who recently moved to St. Joseph, has a varied background in admissions, program development, and teaching. Before joining LMC, he served as Vice President of Admissions and Enrollment at St. Francis. He was the Executive Director of Admissions and Vice President of Enrollment Management at Ancilla. Wignall also held positions at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois, Purdue University-Calumet, and Valparaiso University.

“I am honored to be the new Director of Admissions at Lake Michigan College,” Wignall said. “LMC opens the door to higher education for students from Berrien County, across Michigan, and beyond. We offer high-quality programs at an affordable tuition for students from any community, background, or economic situation.

“I want people to know just how rare LMC is when it comes to higher education, offering high-quality college that is both valuable and a great value,” he continued. “It costs significantly less than four-year universities but provides incredibly valuable credentials that impact a student’s career and life after college.”

Originally from Hobart, Indiana, Wignall holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Indiana State University and a master’s degree in Comparative History from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom.
