Hey Southwest Michigan entrepreneurs, how’s your success these days? Do you wear it well? The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance hopes you’ll join them and 1st Source Bank Thrive as they team up in Celebrating the Entrepreneur next month with a keynote from The Runway in Lansing.
The Runway is a fashion incubator and resource center in the state capital which generates and advances the entrepreneurship culture within the design industry. Joe Carr, Startup Innovation Manager from The Runway will present “Wear it Well” on Thursday, September 28th at Shadowland on Silver Beach.
Tickets are available for 2017 Celebrating the Entrepreneur which will run from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, September 28th. This annual event showcases the achievements and successes of the clients of the Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance.
Following Mr. Carr’s keynote address, guests will enjoy a fashion show featuring local models wearing the latest trends in business attire from area small businesses around Michigan’s Great Southwest.
1st Source Bank Thrive is this year’s title sponsor for the Women’s Business Center annual event. Kimberly Richardson is Vice President and Regional Sales Manager for 1st Source. She tells us, “1st Source Bank supports the work of the Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance.” She adds, “Small businesses are so important to our communities and we are proud to be this year’s title sponsor.”
The Celebrating the Entrepreneur event first launched in 2014 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance, one of three centers in Michigan, and has continued as an annual event ever since.
Stacey Stephens, Senior Director of Entrepreneurship and Special Projects at Cornerstone says, “This event has really evolved. Each year we celebrate the accomplishments of local small business. We are thrilled that the community can gather together as our clients share their stories, offerings and inspire others considering launching a business.”
Interested parties can purchase a table of eight for $250 or individual seats for $35 at the link below. Doors open at 11:00am and guests can shop the pop-up boutiques of the featured businesses. Cornerstone Alliance Small Business Services provides technical, business and financial assistance to small businesses with emphasis on income disadvantaged and women owned businesses. The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance and Microloan Program are funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
