“Entrepreneurs On Course” at SRPGA Produces Huge Boost for SJ Businesswoman

If you are still under the impression that the recently completed KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores was of little value to anyone other cigar-chomping, testosterone laden guys bragging about how far their hybrid irons can carry on the canyon-like 10th fairway you have completely missed out on the amazing diversity and versatility of The PGA of America who continues to work hard to show that golf’s intrigue surpasses the occasional delight of an eagle out of a green-side bunker. Just ask Jamie Kastelic.

Regular readers of Moody on the Market may recognize Jamie as one of our inaugural class of 40 Under 40 winners for her incredible entrepreneurial spirit, and the boundless energy she exhibits for her self-made company Spero-hope.

Thanks to the worldwide reach of last week’s Championship and Jamie’s networking role at KitchenAid’s Entrepreneurs On Course co-hosted by the PGA of America, regular readers of the decidedly deeper reach of Forbes.com now know Jamie’s incredible story all because of her visit to the golf club at Harbor Shores.

Jamie, you see, was one of 80 women business owners invited by Cornerstone Alliance’s Small Business Services team and the Women’s Business Center, to take part in a mid-day networking program at the on-course KitchenAid Fairway Club facility along Graham Avenue. In the shadow of the colorful array of striking new KitchenAid appliances Jamie told her breast-cancer survivor story and her innovative creation of “clean” (paraben-free) hygiene products.

Ironically, that session was keynoted by Forbes contributing writer Kelly Hoey, author of Build Your Dream Network. Kelly was clearly impressed by Jamie Kastelic, and has elected to share her entrepreneurial story through the worldwide reach of Forbes.com. Jamie has been making great strides in getting her products into wider distribution, and has even received the occasional endorsement of A-list personalities.

Having just turned 39 this spring, Jamie barely cleared the 40 Under 40 hurdle, but she was a popular choice and told the audience that one of the major things she’d like to accomplish by the age of 40 is: “I would love to see Spero-hope, LLC products in a brick and mortar store in every state in our country.” If others in search of all natural, chemical-free hygiene products see what she has brought to the market thanks to her wide-ranging exposure in Forbes, she might achieve that before she reaches 39-and-a-half.
