On Saturday morning, September 14th, Edgewater Automation will host a Poker Run event to benefit local high school FIRST Robotics teams. Edgewater is a long-standing participant with FIRST Robotics teams through coaching, mentoring, judging, and sponsoring events and competitions.
The event kicks off with a Berrien County Sheriff’s office-escorted caravan of classic cars and motorcycles, as well as participants’ everyday vehicles, driving from the Edgewater Buchanan location to nearby high schools, where participants will randomly draw a card before driving to the next school.
At the end of the cruise, back at Edgewater, participants will enjoy a grilled hot dog lunch and reveal their five-card hands, with cash and prizes awarded to the best hands. Each participant pays $50 per hand (or a higher donation if you like). Edgewater will match all donations up to $3,000 to further the cause.
Edgewater President Tim Tate said, “Edgewater has had a long-standing commitment to FIRST Robotics. The Poker Run is one more way we can support the next generation while also connecting the public to local teams through a fun event.”
