The city of Dowagiac and the village of Cassopolis are the recipients of $75,000 state infrastructure grants. Governor Gretchen Whitmer this week announced $1.7 million in Neighborhood Enhancement Program grants to 33 communities around the state. The grants are for local governments and non-profit groups to help residents make home repairs, energy efficiency upgrades, and neighborhood amenity improvements. Residents of the communities can expect to see neighborhood improvements as early as this summer and fall as projects funded by the grants should be complete by December 31. Other communities receiving the infrastructure grants include Battle Creek and Hastings.
