The newly renovated McDonald’s restaurant in Southtown St. Joseph was formally welcomed back into the business community Tuesday when the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce assisted with a ribbon cutting ceremony on the Niles Avenue enterprise, and it was also a day to debut the latest technology for McDonald’s customers in the city.
While the renovations were completed and the restaurant re-opened for business back in March, Tuesday was the first time that guests were invited to experience their favorite place in a new and unexpected way with a new level of choice, engagement and service through digital electronic kiosks.
For those looking to order at their own pace in the newly remodeled restaurant, McDonald’s new digital self-order kiosks now make ordering and paying for a meal easier than ever before. Kiosks empower you to browse the menu, find new options and tailor your meal just the way you want. Your orders are then delivered right to your table by McDonald’s crewmembers, allowing you to relax and enjoy a more custom dining experience.
The changes are reflective of a new restaurant model that has been successfully rolled out in more than 2,600 McDonald’s restaurants globally. The transformed dining experience puts more choice and control in your hands as a guest by evolving how you order, what you order, how you pay and how you are served.
McDonald’s franchise owner Estephan Awad, who operates the St. Joe restaurant as well as sister properties in Berrien Springs, Buchanan, Bridgman, Stevensville and four more in South Bend, says, “We’re excited to share this evolved experience at McDonald’s with our customers.” He adds, “We’re placing a higher emphasis on hospitality by focusing on greeting customers, assisting with technology and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment. We appreciate and value our guests’ feedback on this new experience.”
McDonald’s northern Indiana and southwest Michigan co-op franchisees locally own and operate 75 McDonald’s restaurants in the Michiana and Fort Wayne areas. The Co-op also includes 14 company-operated restaurants.
