Residence
I have lived in Niles my whole life except for when I was in college, I lived in Kalamazoo for about 5 years before moving back to Niles.
Where were you born?
South Bend, IN
What was your first job?
My first “real” job was mowing yards in my neighborhood. I also worked at Gina’s Pizza in Niles during high school.
Best advice you ever got?
“Live less out of habit and more out of intent.”
“Don’t just be successful, be significant.”
Who inspires you most?
I recently lost my grandma, we called her Mim. I aspire to be everything she was: a wonderful wife, amazing mom, grandma & friend, active in her church & local community, a great cook, always having fun and putting her best foot forward. She was hardworking and admired by so many!
That one thing about you we’d be most surprised to learn.
I have a cadaver’s ligament in my knee! I had a knee injury in high school as I played volleyball for school and on a travel league. I was able to write the donor’s family an anonymous thank you letter.
What do you love to do in your downtime?
In my downtime, I enjoy camping & kayaking, spending time out on Barron Lake, reading, shopping, spending time with friends & family, volunteering, participating in local events & trying new things!
What book are you reading now?
I am currently reading True Colors by Kristin Hannah.
Volunteer activity you love the most.
Tough question! I really enjoy working at the Korn Dog booth at the Berrien County Youth Fair. It is so fast paced and I love being surrounded by other volunteers and learning about their organizations.
What motivates you to give back to your community?
I want our community to be a place that people are proud to live in, work in and be a part of. I want to leave this world a better place than I found it, and hopefully make it better for my future children and grandchildren.
What Superpower would you most love to have?
I would love to read minds!
What has been the most eye-opening thing about the coronavirus pandemic for you, personally?
I think the most eye-opening thing about the pandemic is the lasting effects on the workforce & supply-chain. It’s been well over a year and we are still experiencing shortages on employees, food, materials, etc.
What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you?
I feel as if this is only the beginning of great things to come. Being only 25 and early in my career as a Realtor® I definitely wasn’t expecting to be nominated or even chosen! I really follow the golden rule and just try to do my best in every situation I’m in. You never know who is watching or looking up to you. I am grateful to be recognized alongside others in our local community making a difference. Just goes to show you can be of any age, work in any profession and do many great things!
