The South Haven Van Buren County Convention and Visitors Bureau is teaming up with the Paw Paw Downtown Development Authority for a new campaign to promote attractions around Paw Paw.

Bureau Director Jennifer Sistrunk tells us “Destination Paw Paw” will work to boost tourism by highlighting lodging, events, and attractions throughout the community.

“We got with the DDA in Paw Paw, as they also wanted to start promoting the area a little bit more, to collaborate to really leverage Destination Paw Paw,” Sistrunk said. “It kind of existed in an informal context, but we really wanted to formalize it and get things rolling.”

Sistrunk says with so many wineries, venues, and restaurants, Paw Paw is a great destination for any visitor to Southwest Michigan.

Destination Paw Paw is highlighting attractions like the Lucky Wolf, the Lake Summer Concert Series at Lakefront Amphitheater, and the Paw Paw Wine and Harvest Festival.

“We’ve done a few video shoots with some local business owners, so we plan to get those out so people can see them, and just update some of their promotional materials, maps, brochures, things like that, just to bring awareness to the area because it’s really growing.”

A new website, DestinationPawPaw.org, has also been launched to help visitors better know the area.

Sistrunk notes more than 5.3 million travelers visited Paw Paw in 2023, and more than 31,000 people attended concerts at the Warner Vineyards amphitheater last year. She says the community is excited to spread a message about what it has to offer.
