Cornhole tournament this Sunday at Bridgman Open Air Market

Taking place this Sunday at the Bridgman Open Air Market will be a cornhole tournament. Market manager Roseann Stachowiak tells us proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. The Bridgman Open Air Market is every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot behind United Federal Credit Union at Red Arrow Highway and Lake Street. In addition to 40+ vendors, Stachowiak says they like to host special events for more fun.

“We’re always wanting to do something fun that also includes the community,” Stachowiak said. “So, if we can help the community and have fun at the same time, we’re gonna do it.”

The cornhole tournament will include four-person teams with registration for $20. Stachowiak says cornhole is increasingly popular, so they thought they’d give it a try.

“Back when I was a kid, it was called Bean Bag Toss, and it’s just grown ever more popular. We wanted to keep it fun, which is why we’re doing gift baskets as prizes, instead of cash prizes.”

Registration Sunday begins at 9 a.m. You can also register online. Stachowiak says other special events planned at the market include a Makers Month in September and a Halloween Harvest in October.
