Cornerstone Alliance was selected to be part of the inaugural Equity in Economic Development Fellowship Program, organized by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Six outstanding young people will serve as Fellows at economic development organizations across the country and Canada for a 10-week time span this summer.
Josiah King, who attends Howard University as a sophomore, recently joined Cornerstone Alliance. He will gain important hands-on experience while advancing substantive and impactful projects during his time in Southwest Michigan.
“This program serves a vital purpose in educating a younger generation about the positive impact and opportunities of economic development in every community. The next generation of leaders has new ideas about what they want to have in a community,” said John Janick, Cornerstone Alliance Chairperson. “We are honored to host Josiah as our Fellow this summer at Cornerstone Alliance, and are grateful that the International Economic Development Council chose us to be part of the inaugural program.”
The summer 2022 class of the IEDC Equity in Economic Development Program Fellows include:

· Invest Atlanta – Patrick Dixon, Morehouse College, class of 2022
· Tulsa Authority for Economic Development – Jerome Miller, Georgia State University, class of 2021
· Decide DeKalb Development Authority – Gifty Antwi, Georgia State University, class of 2024
· City of Brampton – Anesu Nambware, Algoma University, class of 2024
