Cornerstone Alliance has expressed an interest in acquiring a piece of property owned by Benton Township while offering to swap two of its own parcels for it. Cornerstone project manager Zach Vaughn tells WSJM News the organization this week spoke to Benton Township trustees about the parcel at 1395 Territorial Road. He says it has potential for development.
“As we look at that location, we look at the proximity that the property lies near the I-94 interstate highway there, we find that of great benefit, as well as the accessibility it has near the airport there,” Vaughn said.
The property is next to the airport.
“The property is vacant, roughly four or five acres of property there, if I’m not mistaken, and that’s about the extend of the knowledge that we have at this point in time.”
Cornerstone is offering the township two parcels it owns on Enterprise Way in exchange for the Territorial property. Vaughn says the Enterprise Way parcels are adjacent to township assets, including a fire station. Vaughn says Cornerstone Alliance doesn’t have a specific plans for the Territorial property just yet. Township trustees instructed their legal team to review the land swap possibility.
