Consumers Energy is pausing its plans to build a 20-mile long high-voltage power line in Van Buren County. The utility tells residents they are working to evaluate and explore their options in Lawrence after residents began voicing their concerns last month. Consumers says any trees within 80 feet of the line will be removed, with current plans to run that through residential properties.
