A long-held family event celebrating gladiolus flowers and peaches is returning to downtown Coloma after a two-year absence.
The Glad-Peach Festival is set to take place Aug. 6-7, and festival president Vanessa Pentridge could not be more excited for return of the the 50-plus-year-old event.
“One of my biggest memories growing up was driving through town and seeing that Ferris wheel start to go up, or smelling the vendors,” Pentridge said. “I’m just hoping the community will come together and have a good festival. Our community puts on the festival and puts on the festival. … It’s been a couple of years, and I think it’s something we’ve missed.”
Events include live music, 5-K Walk/Run, a classic car show, a parade and a fireworks show. Pentridge said they are still looking for food and craft vendors, and can visit gladpeachfest.com for sign-up forms. A full list of events and a detailed schedule will be announced as the event draws closer.
